Received a questionaire from Sk Shipping
__________________________________________
Good day Juliana Tan,

This is Cho, Youn Sinn working in SK Shipping (Spore) tanker team.

Firstly, we are pleased to see your interest in our company conveying your resume.
Well noted. In fact, we’d like to ask a few more information from you in advance.
Kindly reply of below.
1)Can you tell me what kind of company you are now working in ? (about pinguino events pte ltd)
2)Which company you worked in from Nov 2005 to July 2007 ?
3)Also, I noticed that you obtained ‘Make up artistry dimploma’ in Dec 2007. Any special reason you did this ?
4)Any specific reason you resigned Stellar shipmanagement and joined current company as INTERNSHIP ????
5)Any reason you ‘d like to look around another job instead of current internship ?
6)Present salary at Pinguino Events ? and Previous salary at Stellar Shipmanagement ?
1)Your expected salary from us ?
2)When are you available to work if you are chosen ? Once we receive your kind reply, will refer to precious information well and inform you soon of the interview schedule if you are chosen for interview finally.

Thank you in advance.
YS Cho (Cho, Youn Sinn)

Dear Mr Cho,

Many thanks for your email and SMS and here are my replies to your questions.
1) Pinguino Events Pte Ltd is an events organising company in the Maritime Industry.
2) From 2005 - 2007, I was working in Agility Exhibitions. It is a logistic company dealing with trade exhibitions.
3) There is no special reason for taking up the Make up artistry diploma. It was because i wanted to join the Navy but my mother didn't allow so she made me take up the couse.
4) I left Stellar Shipmanagement Services Pte Ltd because I wanted to further my education in Maritime Institute of Williem Barrentz.
5) I would like to continue my internship in Pinguino Events Pte Ltd but since the company is a small one, they can only afford new interns instead of a full time employee.
6) At Pinguino Events I was getting $800/month and at Stellar i received $2400.
7) I am expecting around $2700 and can start work in a month if i am choosen.

Many Thanks and Best Regards,
Juliana

They surprisingly accepted my explanation and I went for my interview. Surprisingly i felt relaxed and calm eventhough i wanted the job quite badly.
It was a casual meeting with lots of laughter from my future boss (Mr Cho) He was going through my resume and he asked alot of stuff (I didn't put in OOCL at all because i don't want to seem like a job hopper! I told them that i extended my internship at Pinguino)

Everything else went fine until Mr Cho started laughing when he saw my hobbies and interest.
"You learn make up?"
"Yes, because i am like a boy and my mother wanted me to do more girly stuffs"
"I can see that, Bboy, Wushu, Diving, Sailing..." (He laughed at the word wushu)
blah blah blah... He flipped through my certificates and started laughing at the "Wushu Color Award" page.
"Why? What happened?"
 "Nothing nothing"
"He's afraid that you will beat him up" (His boss said that)
"(-_-!!!)"

The interview was fun, but i didn't have much hopes because i didn't have the relevant experiences...
I left feeling happy! =)

I went today at 2pm and they told me to talk to Ivy about any queries. My questions are
how are the people here like? Are they close? Any activities? Fun? Are they strict?....
Ivy went
"You seemed traumatised by your previous job"
If only she knew...
Anyway, she said that the people are close, company is good, Koreans tend to work harder but they are understanding, no politics because the management changes every 5years so no point to porrrr, company pays $300 to learn Korean, $1000 medical claim a year, they speak Chinese so the bosses won't understand, turnover rate low... blah blah...
Mr Cho and his Boss came in again after that and asked if i have other questions.
I was given a stack of charter party agreement to read and familiarise myself with.
Asked Mr Cho if there is anything else i should know, he said no more!

I left feeling happy again! I hope that i will leave the place happy everyday and I am really looking forward to start work SOON! =)

Went BaNanAs^_^ 2:30 PM

After screwing up badly on Monday because i couldn't find the link between Pinguino and BTM, I dragged my feet to go to SP for the second round today.

I purposely choose the slot right after WW so that he could "cover" me up abit if all else fails!
I guess i did alright this time. In my presentation i linked almost everything to the modules taught!
Logistics, crisis and crowd management, budgeting... blah blah~

And i made it a point to emphasise that "Monday you asked and i couldn't answer, i went back and thought about it and......"

I hope they are satisfied this time. But i got stunned when Pieter asked:
"In your conclusion, you said that you don't read, now you have to do research"
"I still don't read, but after being in Pinguino, i know how to network and now i meet feeder operators to get updated information about the market"
"Are you a very expressive person?"
"It depends on who i am with, I will be serious to somebody serious and casual to my friends"
"You have over 3000 photos on facebook"
"WAH! (-_-!!!)"

OWNED!!! I should have said that i prefer to work behind the scenes and am more comfortable and relaxed with people i know.
Throughout my presentation, i kept emphasising that i am still learning and will continue learning and MIWB is just a stepping stone.
I was still nervous eventhough it's my second time, but this time, i know that i did MUCH better then the last!

I really can't express myself well enough! ARGHHHHH
